TPA Annual Conference in the Lunar Suite, The Novotel Birmingham Centre,

70 Broad Street, Birmingham

Friday, 25 October 2013  - 11.30a.m. to 6.00p.m.

TPA is pleased to announce that we have secured the Novotel Hotel's Lunar Suite in Central Birmingham (near the river) for our next TPA Annual Conference. A great venue, with a lovely big room for our sole use. The tables seat up to 10 people to keep our conference informal, which we found has worked well for us in the past. This Hotel is a short walk from the train station or a short minutes taxi ride.

The price for the Conference will be £15 per person, which includes an excellent hot and cold buffet lunch. Please check the Menu below . The staff are knowledgeable about, and able to cater for most dietary intolerances should you need this.


All served with: Potato Wedges and dressed salad leaves.

*Gluten-free alternatives will be provided. As we need to confirm the % of catering that should be gluten free with the Caterers, please let me know your requirements as early as possible and if you have any other dietary requirements, let me know this too please.

On the reverse of the cheque, please write the full name of each delegate the cheque is payment for. We can then tick your names off on the spreadsheet!

Staying overnight?

If you are planning to stay overnight and would be interested in staying at the Novotel, if there are sufficient numbers, we may be able to negotiate a special group rate so please advise me asap if you are interested in this.     Alternatively there are a number of hotels nearby including Travelodge and Premier Inn.   In the Premier Inn Autumn Sale have a special £25 offer for 3 days only. Their Waterloo Street hotel is in a nice location ten minutes from the Novotel.  Their Brindley Place one is very near the Novotel but also near the pubs and clubs so might be a bit rowdy, or it might be quiet!

Your ideas for the day?

We are currently developing the programme for the day, and as usual, it is likely to be a mix of information. The Speakers will be Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield and Dr Gordon Skinner, plus guest Speakers Rufus Greenbaum and Charles Linden.  There will be plenty of time to chat and meet fellow members of TPA and others.  

We do appreciate that a big part of building an interactive conference is to understand what our members would like to get out of the event, so please feel free to give us your ideas to help make this event a great success. Also,  if you you would like a particular topic to be discussed (relevant to thyroid illness and allied conditions of course!) then please email me and we will see what we can do to meet your requirements.

After the speeches, we will have the usual Question and Answer Session.

We will be holding a Raffle to help raise funds for TPA which will go towards helping our various campaigns move forward. If you would like to donate a prize for the Raffle, please will you contact Gill and give her details of the prize you will be donating.

As many of our members are already aware -  the TPA Conferences have become a very popular annual event, and places are likely to be taken up very quickly, so, as numbers are limited and to avoid disappointment - BOOK EARLY!
