This website is dedicated to the millions of thyroid patients who are being ignored and left to suffer unnecessarily, and to healthcare practitioners, who want to better serve those patients.

Foods that affect thyroid status.

Avoid:

  • Cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, turnips, and bokchoy), limit intake to 5 ounces a day or steam

  • Fried and fatty foods (disrupt the body’s ability to absorb thyroid hormone replacement medicines)

  • Processed foods, high sodium content as hypothyroidism tends to raise the BP

  • Excess fiber

  • Coffee (tends to block the absorption of the thyroid replacement), medication taken with coffee can lead to uncontrollable thyroid levels
