Natural Desiccated Thyroid Extract (NDT) preparations are readily available from the reputable Internet Pharmacies throughout the world without the need for a prescription and this information is available for members of the TPA Support Forum.
NDT preparations cannot be purchased in the UK without the need of a NHS or private prescription. The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) state that NHS doctors can prescribe ‘Armour’ Thyroid, Westhroid. ‘Nature-Throid’ and the Canadian licensed Erfa Thyroid so long as they take full responsibility as thyroid extract is not licensed in the UK.
